Here’s what’s inspiring me to write on this today:
A Jennifer. A Selena. A movie. An anniversary…
One of the first things us coaches invite our clients to do once they embark on their coaching journey, is to dig in deep and explore what really matters to them. What it is that is important to them in life. What matters? What boosts them and what gives them that feeling of joy and happiness?
Among the numerous tools we have to help them discover what they VALUE the most, is a question like this one:
‘Who would be 2 famous or historical characters you would most like to meet?”
And why? What is the reasoning behind this? What comes up for us when we bring people we admire to mind? What thoughts? What emotions? How do they make us feel?
One famous woman, is one that ignites inspiration in me. She tops the list of people I admire. I see her as living her life to the full and pursuing her dreams fearlessly and unapologetically! Super talented, loving what she does, gives her 100% to anything she undertakes to deliver (the results speak for themselves!), is a resourceful entrepreneur, a mother, a partner. A beautiful, sexy woman who despite her fame & success, is not afraid to also be seen vulnerable or admit to her fears, mistakes and weaknesses.
I will always remember how her music (especially her hit song “Let’s get loud”) added aliveness to my mornings, during that first COVID lockdown, back in March 2020.
She recently announced that a movie she has starred in, where she depicted the life of the equally successful singer Selena Quintanilla – whose life was tragically cut-short at the peak of her incredible career, is this year celebrating its 25th anniversary!! I couldn’t resist sharing this uplifting, full of rhythm & colour video clip (https://youtu.be/KcbhVheAfo8) from the movie “Selena”, where she demonstrates her mastery and honours the legacy of an authentic talent!
Can you guess what some of my Values are after reading this? Which ones are yours?
If you are curious, try this: imagine you get to meet 2 amazing people either from history or currently famous. Who would you want to meet & why? What would you speak to them about?
